It’s All About Relationships!
“In the year 2010, we worked very intensive with Precision Behavior. We hired them to install a new dolphin show in the Dolfinarium. This was a unique project which has not been done for many years.
The goal was to really move from an aducational presentation/show to a 100% theatrical show. In a support to change the way to act with the animals and the change from animal trainer to actor, we hired Precision Behavior.
Their flexibility and professionalism are just the first two words which come up with us. In a very short, but highly intensive period of 2 months, we succeeded in making the change. They succeeded in getting a real link with the trainers as well as the animals. Their experience and knowledge really brought us to the next level.
The way they motivated our staff was really unique and made this tremendous change possible. In fact, they are still in the hearts of our trainers.
Without any doubt, we can recommend them for any work with animals and teams or individual groups of staff.”
— Marten Foppen MBA, General Manager & Serena Van Kammen, Manager Entertainment | Dolfinarium, Harderwijk, Netherlands
“Our institution, Bocalan Confiar, is a branch organization in Chile, representing Bocalan International Foundation in Madrid, Spain. Our main activities are training assistance dogs for people with disabilities, conducting animal-assisted therapy programs and teaching professional training courses for people interested in animal training and in rehabilitation.
Last August, as part of one of our professional training courses, “Monitor de Educación Canina,” we invited Angi and Thad from Precision Behavior to Santiago to teach the behavior modification and aggression management units. It was an honor to have such outstanding world-class trainers in our country and our students and staff were delighted with their great experience and charisma.
Their visit was an opportunity not only for our institution, but also for the two largest zoos in Santiago where Thad and Angi shared their experience and gave valuable advice regarding training, husbandry and animal enrichment to the trainers and caregivers of large mammals such as polar bears, panthers, lions and others.
It was a great opportunity and a luxury to have their presence and share their friendliness and simplicity. We hope to repeat this experience in 2011 and expand it to other Latin American headquarters of the Foundation such as Bocalan Peru, Bocalan Colombia and Bocalan Costa Rica.”

“Thad and Angi with Precision Behavior spent a number of days working directly with Gatorland’s animal care staff with classroom and direct hands-on training with our animals. In a relatively short amount of time, they established a firm foundation of behavior modification and positive reinforcement to teach our team how to condition our small animals and birds for safe guest interactions. Throughout the teaching process, Thad and Angi were fun, upbeat, and positive. Wait a second, that’s what they teach…BEING POSITIVE! Ohhhh, now I get it! Go Figure!”

“Whale Done Parenting is a fascinating look at parenting from the unusual perspective of professional marine mammal trainers who also happen to be parents! Years ago, trainers discovered an amazing technique to train whales and dolphins, and it worked perfectly! These training techniques are based on the principles of behavioral science and include operant conditioning through positive reinforcement. So Ken, Thad and team thought… why wouldn’t these techniques work with children? The Whale Done Parenting approach is more than just technique-teaching. It is a philosophy to be embraced!”

“The Whale Done program is one of the most transformative I have ever experienced and probably one of my most important collaborations. From the leaders of Fortune 500 businesses to school principals, those who learn and practice the Whale Done positive behavioral approach find their organizations improve dramatically and quickly, as do their personal lives and relationships. The beauty is Whale Done can be applied to virtually any relationship and its challenges… yes, even those with killer whales!”

“Whale Done Parenting is GREAT! Where was this book ten years ago? I think it should be distributed to all new parents at the hospital. It is the instruction manual for parents. The specific examples on setting up for success, ignore failure and/or re-direct and give a Whale Done listed on the note pages will become posted on all refrigerators across America (or the world)! As principal of a Whale DoneSchool, I hope every parent has the opportunity to read and practice Whale Done Parenting. When we instituted the Whale Done-based program at Schaeffer Elementary we saw suspensions go down 95%, and math and reading proficiency improved dramatically. These principles work—kids really respond! It’s the path to success and will make a difference in the next generation of adults. Whale Done! Ken, Thad, Chuck, and Jim.”
